ACCOMMODATION

As with past Round Ups our base, aka Moke Central, will be Austin Tourist Park in Tamworth. Austin is located at 581 Armidale Road (New England Highway), Tamworth. It's a few kilometres on the Armidale side of Tamworth - Google Maps link is here.
The Austin website can be found at www.austintouristpark.com.au, but please book by phoning them on (02)6766 2380 as all cabins have been blocked from the website to ensure that Round Up attendees get preference. Powered and unpowered sites can be booked from the website, but you'll need to call the park to ensure you get the special reduced rates.
Austin caters well to kids with a pool and lots of grassed areas, but also have cabins tucked away a bit for those who want it quieter. They do have a section that allows dogs within reason - must be kept under control etc. Please note that the dog friendly section is for campers and caravanners only - no provision for dogs if you're staying in the cabins. Check with them before making firm plans as this section of the park is virtually on the edge of the section we have commandeered, so it would be quite convenient for those who like to travel with their dog(s). There is plenty of room for car trailers too, for those who want to tow the Moke. Have a look at their website to see what suits you best : www.austintouristpark.com.au/Accommodation
Of course, there is no obligation to stay at the park, but we personally think that it's the best way to get the full experience from the event. If you are staying there, you are in the heart of the action with everyone else. All attendees have stayed there previously and we don't recall hearing anything but praise for the accommodation. They looked after us extremely well and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. However, if you would really prefer to stay elsewhere, Tamworth is a large country town (sorry, city) with many motels, hotels, B&Bs etc available to suit all tastes and budgets (so long as you don't want a view overlooking the beach).
This will be the seventh time we have run the event since the inaugural 2010 Round Up and Austin Tourist Park have hosted it every time. In the spirit of mutual appreciation, they have again looked after us with a discount package for Mokers, which we suspect may have been especially difficult for them in light of the ongoing uncertainties of COVID.
A summary of the rates and terms are displayed below.
Please refer to the accommodation post on the Forum at (link to be added as soon as it's available) for more information, noting that there is a generous discount of stays of 5 nights or more. Remember that you don't have to be a registered member of the Forum to read the board.
